A large farmhouse typical of the mid 1800s, set on a hill from where one is able to admire the enchanting panoramic views of Lake Chiusi and the surrounding rolling hills towards Montepulciano and to enjoy the tranquillity of the Umbrian and Tuscan countryside.
The house is surrounded by a big garden with several outside sitting areas and a large pool (14 x7 meters) with sun terrace, all together 2 ha of land, which has been owned by the Cesarini family for many generations.
In the old restored grain silos a nice space has been established, where guests can see a variety of small antiques and buy wine, olive oil and honey from the local production.
Any hart of someone with a feeling for style, colour, material and architecture will jump higher when seeing the carefully designed interior of every of the four apartments. High ceilings, wooden beams, tiled floors and arches are only some of the elements.
Poggio Antico is located between the charming villages of Vaiano (4 km) and Porto (1km), where guests will find a grocery store (also butcher and bakery) and a bar.
The nearest restaurant or pizza place is in Villastrada (5 km), otherwise in the old Etruscan town of Chiusi (8 km) or in Castiglione del Lago (10 km), which is situated on a peninsula at Lake Trasimeno.
The location on the border between Tuscany and Umbria makes it the perfect spot to visit interesting places.
Also a daytrip to Rome and Florence can easily be done by train from Chiusi station.
